Project Background
BraafSA was tasked with undertaking the Environmental Impact Assessment including the water use license process for a mixed-use development in outline for a 23.5-hectare site on behalf of Communicare, the oldest Social Housing Institution (SHI) in South Africa. To achieve a site development which could be considered for approval, the layout was amended several times to accommodate the wetlands on the property. The property is currently being developed to accommodate 413 single storey residential erven; 4 blocks of 3 storey apartments (650 flats); a Commercial Zone erf (shops / offices); and private and public parks.
