Dear Registered Interested & Affected Party (I&AP),

 

The Western Cape Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning (DEA&DP) has recently granted authorisation to Zevoli Development (Pty) Ltd for a Part 2 Amendment to the previous Amended Environmental Authorisation, in accordance with the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA).

 

This updated Environmental Authorisation replaces the previous one issued on October 6, 2021, and it includes proposed amendments to the activity description. The decision to grant this authorisation was made on April 9, 2024, and it carries the reference number WCP/EIA/AMEND/0000818/2024.

 

The authorisation permits Zevoli Development (Pty) Ltd to proceed with the development of Erf 19407, Somerset West, which includes:

– A residential component covering approximately 13,528.34m²
– A commercial component spanning approximately 615m²
– A crèche occupying approximately 575.74m²
– Roads and associated infrastructure

 

As a registered Interested and Affected Party (I&AP), it’s crucial for you to understand your rights regarding this decision. You have the option to appeal within 20 calendar days from the date the decision notification was sent to registered I&APs. The appeal process is governed by the National Appeal Regulations of 2014, under NEMA.

This written communication serves as the official notice to registered I&APs.

Should you wish to appeal, please ensure compliance with the guidelines outlined in Regulation 4 of the National Appeal Regulations 2014. Your appeal must be submitted in writing to the Appeal Administrator, Mr. Marius Venter, whose contact details are provided below. Additionally, copies of the appeal must be furnished to the applicant, other registered I&APs, any relevant Organ of State, and the decision-maker.
