INVITATION TO COMMENT ON BASIC ASSESSMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME

Project description: A telecommunications mast, including associated infrastructure, is proposed on Erf 212, Elandsbaai. The proposed development is to clear an area of 65m² to erect a 25m high Monopole mast with antennas situated on the top of the proposed structure. The site is situated on the existing sportsgrounds on Lang Street, Elandsbaai North.

Legal requirements: Notice is hereby given of an environmental application, and public participation, process in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998), as amended (“NEMA”), Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations 2014 (as amended). The proposed project includes activities listed in terms of the NEMA EIA Regulations, 2014, namely, Government Notice R324 (Listing Notice 3): Activity No. 3 and thus requires an environmental authorisation prior to commencement. Braaf Environmental Practitioners SA has been appointed by Eagle Towers SA (Pty) Ltd, to undertake the NEMA EIA Application for Environmental Authorisation process.

Public Participation:   Interested and affected parties are invited to comment on the BAR/EMP that will be available for public comment for a period of 30 days from 20 April to 23 May 2018 at the Elandsbaai Public Library. The BAR/EMP and comment sheet will be available on the Braaf website: www.braafsa.com (Documents for Comment – Elandsbaai BAR), as of 20 April 2018. To register or submit comments, I&APs should refer to the DEA&DP reference number above, and provide their name, address & contact details (indicating your preferred method of notification) and an indication of any direct business, financial, personal, or other interest which they have in the application. I&APs who cannot write or read or who otherwise require special assistance to relay their views on the proposal can contact Olivia Braaf on the telephone number below to assist them to record their comments or objections. You are also requested to pass this information to any person you feel should be notified.

 NEMA EIA PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS

EIKEZICHT RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

 

Notice is hereby given of a Public Participation Process in terms of the National Environmental Management Act, 1998 (Act No. 107 of 1998) (NEMA), as amended and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2014 (as amended).

 

Application for environmental authorisation to undertake the following activities: Government Notice R327 (Listing Notice 1): Activity No. 27, Listing Notice 3 (GN No. 324): Activity No. 4 & 12. A Basic Assessment Process is being undertaken.

 

Project Description & Location: The proposed development site, Farm Groenland No. 214/12, Stellenbosch RD is located on the eastern periphery of Brackenfell, directly south-east of Protea Village and east of Normandie Estate. The Perdekop section of the Bracken Nature Reserve abuts the northern border of the site, while being bordered to the east and south, by the Crammix site. The proposal entails a 425-unit residential complex made up of a range of 4-storey & 5-storey apartment blocks within a security estate. A portion of the site will be subdivided off and rezoned to form part of the Perdekop Section of the Bracken Nature Reserve. The development will include various internal functional open space and landscaped areas, including the creation of a clubhouse with community facilities as a social focus to the development. Infrastructure requirements will also form part of the proposal which will include a sewage package plant and the related water use authorisations in terms of the National Water Act, 1998. The proposed development will have one main access from Kruin Street and a second emergency access off the same road.

Availability of the Basic Assessment Report (BAR): The BAR will be available for public comment from Thursday, 19 July to 20 August 2018 at the Brackenfell Library (Paradys Str, Brackenfell, Tel:021 400 3806). The report will also be made available on our company website: www.braafsa.com .

 

Public Participation: Interested and Affected Parties (I&APs) are hereby notified of the application and invited to register (in writing) and/or provide initial comments and identify any issues, concerns or opportunities relating to this project to the contact details provided below, on or before 20 August 2018. In order to register or submit comment, I&APs should refer to the project name, and provide their name, address & contact details (indicating your preferred method of notification) and an indication of any direct business, financial, personal, or other interest which they have in the application. Please note that future correspondence will only be sent to registered Interested and Affected Parties.
